Grey, a Nigerian fintech platform in partnership with Her Network, a global networking platform for women, just opened it’s applications for African female founders to receive funding for their businesses. They are allowing women to apply for Grey’s $4000 Equity-Free Funding.

Grey provides digital foreign accounts for digital work nomads, remote workers, and freelancers, allowing them to receive money instantly from abroad. According to the African Development Bank, women in Africa face challenges in accessing finance; this has caused a $42 billion finance gap for women entrepreneurs in Africa. 

With this, Grey launched UpGreyed Her, a financial inclusion initiative for women. Grey empowers three women with capital to scale their businesses with long-term support.

Grey will award a total of $8000 prize money: $4000 to first place and $2000 to two runners-up.

Eligibility Criteria

Before you can apply for the UpGreyed Her $400 equity-free funding, you must be a;

  • Female founder or co-founder with at least 50% of ownership
  • Founder between the ages of 21 and 35
  • An African resident
  • Founder with a business established within the last three years

Application Timeline

The application for the UpGreyed Her funding opens on March 8th, 2024, and closes on March 24th, 2024.

Your application must be submitted on/before 9 AM (Pacific Time) on March 24th, 2024.

The UpGreyed Her funding by Grey is community-focused and open to anyone in Africa; it also uses a fair and expert evaluation process. Grey has a panel of well-acclaimed female judges proficient in business, tech, and management.
