Startup Conferences in Africa 2024

As the Africa tech/entrepreneurship ecosystem keeps developing, so does the number of conferences and events that bring the ecosystem stakeholders together; here are some startup conferences in Africa in 2024;

Africa CEO Forum – Rwanda

Founded in 2012, the Africa CEO Forum is an annual event that aims to connect decision-makers in Africa with each other alongside international investors. This conference facilitates year-round support to African businesses and places systems that allow them to exchange ideas and experiences.  

Every year, the forum gathers over 2000 participants from over 70 countries, including 40 Africa countries. This year’s conference is on the 16th and 17th of May, 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Gitex Africa 2024 – Morroco

Named one of the world’s biggest tech and startup shows, Gitex is a global annual conference that brings together leaders and stakeholders in the Africa tech ecosystem to discuss the role of cybersecurity in shaping the digital future. 

The event will host attendees from over 130 countries worldwide with innovations in AI, Cybersecurity, mobility, and more as it marks its 44th edition since 1981. This year’s conference is on the 29th – 31st of May 2024 in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Africa Technology Expo – Nigeria

Happening on the 22nd of June, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria, and featuring over ten startups, the Africa Technology Expo is an annual event that showcases innovations in fintech, health tech, edtech, AI, IoT, blockchain, cybersecurity, and more. It connects and gathers tech companies, investors, and tech enthusiasts. The event focuses on driving investment and accelerating the growth of the African tech ecosystem.

IoT West Africa – Nigeria

Themed The Future is Connected, the IoT West Africa event, allows West Africa startups to showcase their dazzling innovations, get the platform to explore the latest developments, and meet with industry leaders, government investors, entrepreneurs, and major stakeholders.

Since 2022, the IoT West Africa conference has explored and highlighted innovative technologies. This year’s edition hosts speakers from RackCentre, Radio Data Centre, SmartCash, Africa Data Centres and more. The date for this event is on the 2nd – 4th of July, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria.

Moonshot by TechCabal – Nigeria

This conference brings together Africa’s tech ecosystem to network, collaborate, and share insights; the event is hosted by the Nigeria tech media giant TechCabal in partnership with Sabi, Africa’s leading provider of infrastructure powering the distribution of goods and services.

The event will host 60 speakers on the 9th – 11th of October 2024 in Lagos, Nigeria.
