LinkedIn Local Kigali set to host “Global Connections, Local Bonds” networking event

Kigali’s vibrant professional community will welcome an exciting new networking opportunity on June 6th, 2024, as LinkedIn Local Kigali (LLK) hosts its inaugural and most-talked-about event themed “Global Connections, Local Bonds.” This exclusive gathering aims to go beyond borders and develop meaningful connections among local and international professionals who have made Kigali their home.

LinkedIn Local™, which already has its upcoming Kigali edition, are organic meetups hosted by members worldwide, providing a platform for networking, community building, discussing industry trends, and sharing best practices for leveraging LinkedIn.

Mayowa Kolawole, a virtual business manager and the convener of LinkedIn Local Kigali with her team, recognises the need to promote a sense of community and collaboration among international professionals in the city of Kigali, Rwanda, and beyond. Through this event, the team aim to encourage meaningful interactions and connections between global professionals and the local professional community in a collaborative and laid-back environment where expertise can be exchanged.

“We are excited to bring together a diverse group of professionals for an evening of networking, insightful conversations, and meaningful connections while holding LinkedIn Local Kigali,” said Kolawole. “Our theme, ‘Global Connections, Local Bonds,’ is all about celebrating and strengthening the incredible diversity of skills, experiences, and cultures within Kigali’s international professional community.”

The event is scheduled to take place at Lemon Kigali (KG 623 St) from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm,  accompanied by soft music vibes and a photo session to capture the memorable moments. Attendees can look forward to fireside chats focused on building a LinkedIn network and personal brand and adapting to Rwanda’s unique culture and business environment. These sessions are designed to equip professionals with valuable insights and strategies for navigating the local professional landscape.

In addition to the fireside chats, the evening will provide opportunities for participants to connect with inspiring professionals who share their passion for growth and collaboration. The team emphasised that the event is an ideal platform for meaningful connections that can lead to exciting opportunities and lifelong friendships.

While the event is free to attend, it is by invitation only, with a limited capacity upon achieving an over-subscribed waitlist.
